“A Bad Penny Always Comes Back”
About the Book
In the last days of WWII, seven brave young RAF/RCAF men
and their Lancaster, “Bad Penny,” were chosen for a dangerous
mission to help a country in need.
A portion of the
proceeds of all book sales benefit the ALS Society of Windsor-Essex
County and the restoration of "Bad Penny"- Windsor, Ontario's Lancaster Bomber.

Bad Penny Crew Composite Photo
The only existing photo showing all seven members of the Bad Penny crew was damaged. Sometime over the 62 years since the end of WWII one third of the picture had been cut off; the heads and shoulders were missing from the top four men.
Up, Up and Away! Make Your Own Bad
Penny Lancaster Plane!
Pat Kelly of Pat Kelly Model Design in Windsor, Ontario, has created a Clipitz Bad Penny plane for you. To begin simply download
the three pages with the Bad
Penny model pieces and instructions and then print. You will need scissors, glue
and maybe a grownup to help you cut and join in on the fun!
“A Bad Penny Always Comes Back” is more than the story of an act
of kindness during wartime. Glen Mitchell has captured the love between two
great nations, Canada and the Netherlands. A bond that is as strong today as
it was during the life saving food drops of “Operation Manna” in
the final days of WWII.” S. Michael Beale KTJ
