Liberation Celebration
City Hall and the Royal Botanical Gardens hosted
separate celebrations of Canada-Netherlands Friendship Day
last Saturday (May 5). The special day marks the official
liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian Armed Forces and
Allied Forces at the end of the Second World War. Above,
at City Hall, ceremonies included a fly past by two Harvard
aircraft and a flag raising involving Glenn Mitchell, Peter
Buttenaar and Stan Jones.
